AMS Multi-Stage Sludge and Sediment Sampler Kit
This sampler is 12”, 24”, 36”, or 48” selectable and provides up to a 48” continuous sample. (48” Liners are available by special order. Call for details.) Kit includes an AMS multi-stage sludge sampler, multi-stage sludge core tip, 2” multi-stage valved core tip, 12” multi-stage SCS base, three 12” multi-stage SCS sections, three 4’ extensions, plastic liner, plastic end caps, 2” soil core catcher, universal slip wrench, two crescent wrenches, SST cross handle, slide hammer, and the AMS deluxe carrying case. Uses a disposable plastic core catcher that fits on the end of a 2” x 12” plastic liner. The technically enhanced core tip is specifically designed allowing the plastic core catcher and liner to fit snugly over the core tip’s machined lip which holds the liner and core catcher in place during sampling, reducing side-to-side float. Once the core catcher and liner are placed on the core tip, they are loaded into a standard multi-stage base section and screwed together. The Flap Check Cap is a modified multi-stage cap with 4 holes machined completely through it and a rubber check flap stretched and fitted over the holes. During deployment of the sampler, the flap cap opens and allows excess air and water to escape through the top of the sampler. The sediment enters and fills the liner. When the sampler is lifted, the rubber flap cap closes over these holes and creates suction to assist the core catcher in retaining the sample. Optional 12” sections are available and can be added to the sampler to extend its length for profile studies up to 48”, depending on the sediment lithology. The kit comes complete with two 2” plastic liner caps and one slip wrench.
